Healthcare interior space has evolved from being a traditional sterile environment to a design that is more home-like. Designers, in conjunction with the healthcare professional, have a growing appreciation for how furniture, lighting, color and space can better facilitate the healing process. By better understanding a space’s core function and purpose, a design can be developed that will not only make the patient’s experience less stressful, but enhance the care provided in the space.
